G – Gratitude Leads to Joy

Image Description: A building sitting next to a tree with bright red leaves. The quote by Ann Voskamp sits in the foreground, “As long as thanks is possible, then joy is always possible.” The quote is from her book Thousand Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are

There is always something to be thankful for regardless of our situation. Even on the worst of worst days we can express gratitude. In fact, we should. When we express gratitude, even for the microscopic things, we allow ourselves to experience the joy that God grants us every single day. It can be as simple as, “Thank you for the smell of fresh baked cookies. Thank you for the red leaf that landed on the ground in front of me.”
Today, I will share a few things that I’m thankful for.

Visits to Georgia with family and friends.

A silly husband.

Warm sun spilling through the windows.

Soothing kitty purrs.

Toothie toddler smiles.

Fire red trees.

Morning rooster crows.

Snorting pigs.

Chickens raking red dirt for their morning grub.

Bursts of laughter at the dinner table.

Hay munching goats.

Stories from the past.

Sweet kitty rubs.

Moist pumpkin chocolate chip bread.

Crunch of leaves under my feet.

Vision to see the beauty around me.

What are you thankful for?
